“From Out of These Hills”, an art exhibition by Fran O’Boyle
June 24, 2013 by
Fran O’Boyle is a Shropshire based artist and storyteller with strong links to the Glens of Antrim. As a storyteller, many of the stories he uses originate from the Glens or are inspired by that landscape.
Fran has been working on a series of paintings that illustrate how much the stories and the landscape are inter-connected with each other and that the stories still live within the landscape of the Glens.
The stories are a vital part of the landscape and visa-versa. So long as the mist rolls over the mountain or a waterfall crashes onto rocks at the foot of a cliff, Oisín, Fionn, the fairies and the ghosts will continue to live in stories and the local mindset.
Come to Feis na nGleann Art and Craft Display and see Fran’s interpretation of how the two go together
